Description
Italian synth musician Valerio Lombardozzi under his alias ‘Heinrich Dressel’ delivers an album of John Carpenter meets Goblin electronica
Let the dark & wintry synth soundscapes of Heinrich Dressel create practical Rob Bottin-style creature FX in your mind’s eye as you listen to… Shapeshifting!
The new album from Heinrich Dressel – aka Italian synth musician Valerio Lombardozzi – is loosely inspired by the ‘creature feature’ B-movies Valerio watched growing up in the 80s and 90s, including those of John Carpenter and contemporary horror film auteurs.
But that’s not the full story. Inspiration also comes from natural phenomena including glaciers, which ‘shape shift’ over time… and that of Valerio’s own music, which takes on new shapes with every one of his diverse musical projects and personae. Most recently these projects have included Dressel Amorosi, the group formed with ex Claudio Simonetti’s Goblin bassist Federio Amorosi. This is the first Heinrich Dressel release on Spun Out Of Control.
Music blog Complex Distractions says: “The idea of evolution and change, regardless whether natural or unnatural is at the heart of this excellent record [of] future classic synth cuts… making Shapeshifting the escapism you need right now.”
The album is available as a limited edition of 200 cassettes & digital download, split equally between two frosted tape shell colours: Ice Pick White or Glacier Blue. Catalogue number is SOS 038.
Artwork is by Eric Adrian Lee.
